I myself can honestly say that it ate away two years of my life in high school. Thankfully I rid myself of it by selling it to a friend...may God help him lol...I feel bad for doing it, but it had to be done for me to stop. How has it affected your life?

I played WoW for 9 months when I was pregnant. It is funny because instead of other cravings, it seems like WoW is what I want. After giving birth, I lost interest in the game so I stop my subscription. Probably in the future, if I have more time, I will go back and check how my friends are doing.

It's good that you know that WoW affects all of us in some way or another. For me, it has affected me in a good way and in a bad way. In the good way because I learned lots of thing, made friends and had fun playing but bad things because I became addicted to it and spent most of my days playing WoW, and living the "No-life". Because of this, I became distanced from the real world and lost contact with many friends, and I also had friends disrespecting me because they had called me a "noob" because I play online games.

I don't let it effect my life. I only play it when I have some free time and when I don't have the money to pay for it I stopped the subscriptions. I play when I have the time and talk to friends while I play, but I also befriend them in a real life atmosphere and we talk on IM if one of us can't play the game.

the first year was really bad. I was not a gamer at all but since hubby intorduced me to this game I spent a lot of hours in it. I loved it because of it felt like in the old times plus I like the character styles. Blood elf male looks really cool and female night elf looks sexy and exotic, for example. but after over a year I start to feel bored about it. the friends I know don't play it often anymore, not even their alts. now only rude people and ninjas dominating it. I can easily ignore them but I really miss the good people that are good players too. I have alts and I do both dungeons and pvp and yet everyday I lose interest more and more. So I'm trying to sell all my stuffs now and delete some low lvl alts. I plan to quit the game completely next month.

Hey I know a guy from the my bro's class that's exactly in your situation. He played WoW like a maniac for like 2 years then sold his account to someone else from the highschool. For me I don't think it's such a big impact, since I only play for the raids nowadays and it's much fun to chat with the guys on ventrilo :)

I can honestly say that it has not really effected my life all that much. I have been playing for 2 months and I am not really getting a kick out of it anymore. I might sell it now.

I think I'm one of the rare ones that managed to pick up WoW and not get addicted. In fact, I stopped playing roughly three weeks after I started. However, my best friend is a different story. He started back in high school and has played for numerous years now. It basically runs his life due to the fact that he plans his classes, job, and what little social life he has around raids and arena matches and such. Not only does he spend money on the game itself, he's even spending money buying gold from other users and such, or something like that. It's pretty bad, hahah

I've been playing WoW for about a year now, and it hasn't taken over my life. Sure, when it was new to me, I was really engrossed in it and I even missed a few nights of sleep so I could stay up and play. Before WOW, though, I missed sleep to stay up and play games or chat, or read a book, or just to clean the house. WoW hasn't really been any different. One thing, though is that I've stopped playing casual games, which cost me about $20 each, and which I master within 3-7 hours of play time. For me, WoW is a much better investment because I can't seem to get tired of it, but I'm also not perpetually stuck in the mode that comes with getting a new game. Basically, I've just dropped all other gaming, and stick to playing WoW one or two nights a week (if I have the time.) In the end, WoW has had benefits for me, because I spend a lot less money on it per month than I used to spend on other games.

Well I was playing the game from the beginning I was a beta tester and the purchased the game when it was released and I can honestly say it ate up my time. As much as I don't want to admit that I was becoming addicted to it I did. I couldn't go out with out thinking about it and I got all my friends playing it. Soon I found myself not leaving the house except for work and even then I would call in sick to play. I stopped playing when things at work started to deteriorate. When I stopped (and it was hard to) I had to basically rebuild my life I had lost or missed out on so much. Now I don't play I'm in a great relationship and I'm doing well but from time to time I'm still tempted to reinstall and play but I don't knowing what I can lose if I do.
