Life Support....

This is a difficult decision to make but I have to ask: If you had a loved one in the hospital and they were intubated (that means that they couldn't breath on their own and had to have a machine do it), would you give them support to keep the machine going? Or would you give the order to let that person go? Why do you think that you would make the decision that you chose? What would you want your family to do if you were in that position?

It would have to depend on what the doctors told me. If my loved one had a 70% chance of coming off of the life support, and have some semblance of having a life again, then i would keep them on the life support. If the chances were less than 70% then i would have to let them go. I have told my children the exact same thing for me. I do not want to be a burden to my family, and i do not want to live my life as a vegetable. I would want them to let me go, and remember the times we had together, and cherish those memories, and pass them on to future generations.
