the syrup comes in big ol' cannisters. they have to be hooked up to a water line or some kind of line. i bet they don't have them set up right. they are a pain in the tail to change out. i worked at a convenience store that had them . i hated when u had to change them.

that's great. those cannisters were a pain in the butte. it's been a long time since i worked in one. glad they made it easier on the employees, that's unusal.lol thanks for the update.

These guys above are right. That could be a fairly big issue with the smell of the soda, something they may not have considered though, is what is the tap water quality of your city? Because many restaurants I have worked it, used tap water, CO2, and then the syrup, and the machines mix it together in the proper ratio. The machine may not have the proper ratio, or it could be dirty. OR just the water quality could be poor.

There is more to water treatment then just filtering. And as has been stated which is most likely the more common cause is that the lines have not been cleaned properly on a regular basis, or almost as bad, the cleaning solution was mixed to strong.
