It seems the Captain who is being held by the pirates jumped out of the boat, but they got him back. Now you know this is real life because in the movie they will have him jump into the arms of the Navy Seals who will shoot the pirates or just pull them into the water to drown. And that will be the end of the movie. How ever in real life the pirates have brought back their own ship and our navy has also increased it's fire power. Can't wait for the next chapter. Are you watching this?

Hi savypat, I've been watching and thinking that this is real life and I wonder just what's going through the mind of that captain right now. I wonder if something can't be done to make that part of the world safer. Blessings.

From what I've been hearing it's a matter of dollars, it costs much more to avoid the area or make it safer then to just pay the pirates off.

Its Sad ! I am mariner by profession (presently on leave).. Often , we have passed through Somalian Waters , when we had to take all kinds of precautions to ensure that we werent boarded by pirates. Patrols by Coalition Naval forces ensured our safe transit , but I guess not everyone has been that lucky . I hope the situation gets resolved quickly . Its hard to believe that Piracy is still thriving in the 21st century

I don't think it was ever gone, just under the radar, now it's out there in all it's ugliness. Thanks

Pat, this is one of the most compelling stories in recent memory. It's one of the few times I wish I had cable or dish TV so I could get better news coverage!
