Got my first paid blogging job on elance

I have just been awarded my first paid blogging job on elance. I have to write 5 posts per week and will be paid $2 per post. It is not much but it is a start. I figure after I get a few assignments under my belt I shall be able to apply and get higher paid blogging and writing jobs in future. It is such a good experience, I have been waiting for an opportunity like this for a week or two and am now happy I have been rewarded.
How many of you mylotters do paid blogging? Is it something you are interested in or would like to pursue. If so check out elance as they have several more paid blogging jobs on offer.

I just started a blog, that is, I just set up a blog but I have yet to post to it. I'm just not organized enough yet to be disciplined about it and I am still figuring out how all this works. I guess I need to spend less time onn myLot!

Mylot is very addictive and does slow down our productivity on other sites. You need to leave a set amount of time each day for your blogging and other writing activities, and then when you feel tired and burnt out visit mylot again for inspiration.

I think that ultimately that is what I will end up doing. I've tried gather and I've posted a few movie reviews to ciao but they aren't that cost effective for the amount of time you have to put in to see a return for your effort.
BTW, I found your AC profile earlier. Nice Paris pix!

GREAT news! I got my first one on GAF - haven't had any luck at all with elance. Mine started at $1.50 a post for 20 days, now it's running $2/post for 6 months. Have a look at odesk and guru as well (though I like guru less than the others). Hope they keep you on at a higher rate when the trial period's over!

I am on odesk but had no success there. I am actually very surpised I got the job but since it is on a finance forum and I provided my Helium finance articles as evidence I ould do the job this must have swung it in my favour. I am not sure he will keep me on, although it is pretty pointless in uploading daily blog posts for 6 months and then stopping, so if he does want to keep me I would be increasing my rate to $4 a day. I will probably apply for other higher jobs too now after I do this one for a few weeks. I dont want to have too many blogs to keep up with as one or two will always suffer.

Does elance have an email notifier for new jobs in a specified search? I couldn't find one: very annoying.

I am not sure, all I do know is that they email me the highest paid writing and translation jobs on a weekly basis

Congratulation for breaking into your new frontier.
Writing for blog (I mean my personal blog) is more relaxing than writing article to Helium or AC.
At least I do not have minimum word count. By the way, what is the expected word count for every blog post you have to write? If the word limit is just 200 to 300 words, $2 is a reasonable sum.
$10 a week is a nice and tidy sum, enough to pay for mobile phone bill.
At this moment, I'm happy just writing for my personal blog. May considered paid blogging job in the future.

Thanks, I feel blogging is easier too as there is no word limit. I dont believe there is a word limit for my new blogging assignment, but if he expects more than 200 words I shall be increasing my price.

This is true. It is better to have multiple sources of income!! Thanks for your continued support and reading my articles on AC, I really appreciate it
It inspires me to keep writing knowing that someone is actually reading. Not to mention it is helping my page views!! I will be at clout 5 soon I think!

Well done and good luck. I haven't had any luck at elance because the competition is so fierce and as you said yourself, you had to reduce the amount to be paid per post to get the job. Also, since elance request a percentage (6%, if i am not mistaken), I had to make various calculations before actually giving a quote and it felt like I was giving either a very high quote, and thus I wouldn't get the job, or feel like I was being paid nothing. In any case, it is a wonderful opportunity and you can try to make the best out of it.
