I remember when I was 16 years old and I was in love with, Britney Spears (her music that is)It was all about virginity, marriage and how she was a role model to teenage girls. The moment she made mistakes, she was highly criticized. Now, I asked my self. Why was she criticized? Who in the world wants to look up to someone who is trying to live a perfect life? No one is perfect. Making a mistake, acknowleging the mistake and confronting it, that in my opinion is a role model. The point of having a role model, it's to learn from it and to absorb the best. My mother always said to me: In order to learn from a mistake it doesn't necessary means that you have to live it, you can learn from someone else experience.

I honestly don't think that Britney Spears as a good role model. It doesn't seem like she cares that young girls look up to her and sees what she does. If she did then she wouldn't have done half the stuff that she has done. She needs to start thinking about how her fans see her and what her actions do to them.

shes a role model... do what not to do!! lol. fame just got the best from her and as she tryed to fly the crashed plan you cant blame her for at lest trying. shes not a role model for the lil grils any more but for young women. especially young mothers. no matter how fat she gets she looks way better then me so thums up.... my role model are ppl i imagine that i would like to be. I lil bit of all my friends has something very pwerful to them and some less then others... my role model is my self for my son.

In no way do I think she is a role model! It has nothing to do with her making mistakes. Everyone makes a mistake. But I certainly don't want my little girls looking up to someone who acts and dresses the way she does. I'm sorry. But in my book modesty still means something! I wouldn't let my girls out of the house dressed in their underwear and she prances on stage in nothing more than what looks like a bra and panties!
