When you shopping at the department stores, they would like to offer you to save 20% of whatever you shop today, if you apply their store credit cards. You might thought to yourself, why not, I just take their offers, and when the bill comes, I just paid off the full amount all at once. You take their bait, and accept their offers.
At their credit line, they might add the "credit protection plan" to your account, which charge you approximately $500 or more a year. It not going to protect you credit, they only protect the credit cards that those stores offer you. Don't take the bait.

I know what you mean! I got one from Goodies and they went out of business. I also got one from Wal-Mart. I got the one from Goodies because of getting the 20% discount like you said. The one from wal-Mart I don't think I'll ever pay off because of the high interest rate.
