Story Time.... What happened to them?

Do you have story time with your family?
Do you enjoy telling your kids stories of yesteryear?
I remember those days when as kids we gather around and our parents would take us through story after story which could either have us shivering or laughing our heads off. Those were great days. 
Many of our story times occurred during the evening or at nights when we would just sit and talk and talk. We are able to enjoy the splendid moonshine here in all her glory. One of the oh so awesome benefits of not living in the city.
During childhood these moonshine nights were just perfect for story telling and sometimes it was so bright we would run around the yard (which was big) playing some game or the other and our parents would some times join in or just watch us and enjoy themselves.
My nephew now enjoys when we tell him stories and he loves to make up and tell his own. He just loves when I read to him at bed time or we sing kiddies songs until he nods off 
. He is missing out on the sort of quality story telling time we used to have though. So many nights we send him off to bed after he has watched some TV or used the computer or just play with his toys.
What I like though is that many times I go to check on him and find him reading one of his books or going through one that is too advanced for him.
I just wish we would give up more of our computer and TV time to sit with him and tell stories like when we were kids.

I don't have child but in my child hood days my father tell me story every night. I like my father very much. These days are best days of my life.

My mom and dad used to tell us stories as well. It was really fun reminiscing those moments. My grandma would also tell us kids their life during the war. It fascinates us that it really happens to my grandma, she will tell us how they run away from the soldiers and etc. I agree with you that we should increase family time but minimizing time watching TV or in using other gadgets (PSP, internet, etc.)
