Would you let your kids in the car with a new driver?

This topic has come up alot lately in my life. Alot of parents do not wish thier son or daughter to be in the car with P plate drivers. (I am unsure of other countries laws with driving, but here in Australia at 16 you can get your L plates, then at the age of 17 you can get your P plates, which is when you can drive without an adult in the car). If you were (or are) a parent, would you let your son/daughter get in the car with a new and potentially dangerous driver? Why or why not?

Why not? I think I would allow my child to ride with a P plate drivers. Your traffic rules at Australia are more stricter than we have here in the Philippines. I believe that you should have to make sure that your child is going to a very responsible driver/friend. I believe that the driver won't be getting a P Plate unless he passed the requirements for that plate. I guess you should start trusting other people for your child. happy myloting

That is true, however here in Australia every week there are hundreds of accidents, 90% of them are P plate drivers, they are constantly driving recklessly and killing themselves and eachother. P platers are becoming a major problem here in Australia, so it is very hard for parents to allow thier kids in the car.

I see. If that is the case, you trust your instinct if you will allow your child or not :)
