On AC, what kinds of articles do you get the most reads on?

I try to vary the kinds of articles I write for AssociatedContent, to both challenge myself and to get a wider range of readers. I've found, though, that most of my reads come from research papers I have published. I believe a lot of these come from simple google searches, since I can easily find them myself by doing a simple google keyword search. Sometimes I think I will get a lot of reads on an article, for instance, I wrote one on how to save money at home, which I expected to be a relatively popular topic, but I have barely gotten any reads on it. What kinds of topics do you find get a lot of reads for you on AC? How-to articles? Research articles? Pop culture news articles?

I get hits on football and things that can kill you lol. Snake articles or spiders get good hits. My posionous snakes in North Carolina article gets good results. I get good results on tourist stuff as well. Gold mines in North Carolina or such as that in my state.

I wrote a couple tourist articles from the Assignment Desk not too long ago, maybe those will go over well. Interesting that you've found snakes and spiders get good hits! I wouldn't have thought that! Thanks and keep it up :)

How to articles do pretty well for me and also one that I wrote recently about sunglasses. It's hit or miss, I'm often surprised by which of my articles do well and the ones that flop especially when I've been very meticulous about making sure I use good keywords and phrases. Your article about saving money at home probably didn't do as well as you hoped because there are already a lot of similar articles, that was the problem with one I wrote recently about how to get out of credit card debt.

Good point, there's probably a ton of money saving articles right now. I hope your sunglasses article works out well for you! Thanks and good luck!

Yeah, the save money ones had their time in the lime light and no one is partiularly interested any more or we've heard all the tips and tricks enough and then those like me - I've lived all those tips and tricks.. tell me something I don't already know! I have written a few.. they did great few months ago, but have dropped drastically recently. Just gotts figure out what the next "buzz" topic is and start writing!!!! That's what I am trying to find out!

The articles that I get the most page views are ones that are the most interesting. I have some really interesting mental illness articles on associatedcontent. I get a lot of page views on them. I also get a lot of page views on my how to be a good college student. I think that article has made me the most page view money out of all the articles I have written.

My health articles get a lot of views, such as "Jogging vs Walking for Health" and "Taurine: The Energy Drink Ingredient," as two examples. Those are some of my top earners, even to this day, and they were written over two years ago. I love writing recipes and product reviews, although they are not big earners. I do it because I enjoy it and a small amount of money is satisfying to me. I also like writing about health benefits of certain vegetables and herbs, and those articles earn pretty well too.

I have not been with AC very long, but the one of articles that have a lot of reads happen to be on the technology side(html, photoshop, etc).
