Philippine History is a subject taught to students in High School. It studies about our country's culture, heroes and others. When I was in High School, I never liked this subject mainly because it discusses the same things over and over. I only liked the History when they talked about war. (Hey, I am not a war freak). But what makes it so fun is that you wished you want to experience what is happening in that time. You think that you want to see it with your own eyes the truth about what really happened to Philippines. Philippines is a great country. It has a lot of natural resources, animals that are rare and best of all the food. ^_^ Do you like our history? Aren't you curious sometimes that you wish you want to see the Philippines before? In the time of the Spaniards, American and Japanese? Hehehe.

Absolutely yes. Our history is very colorful and wonderful. From the negritos era to Marcos era only though.. The next generation of our history should be thrown into a garbage truck.. Coz it's nonsense..

Yeah, I can agree with that. It's kinda a disappointment that this generation has so many bad influences that an can't pass to the young ones.

Yeah, I can agree with that. It's a disappointment that this generation has many bad influences that an adult might be embarrassed to pass to the young ones.

I never disliked the history of our country or the history of any country for that matter. What I dislike is the way we handle ourselves today. We make history with every second that passes by and we have the ability to change our situation. We all don't want to be the great depression era of our nation. Our history is our history no matter what. We can't change that but, we can still change tomorrow can't we?

True. But, the events happened after Marcos regime seems like not a good thing to say it is part of the history when our future children will read the philippine history. HEehhe. Thanks for the reply. ^_^

Well, I don't like our history so much.. Because most of it was spent under another country's rule. It makes me feel so inferior. What I liked about history was the revolutions. =) I like to think that our forefathers really fought back, and didn't just give up, or else, we would be just another colony under another country..

Very true. Being controlled by other countries for like how many years seems kinda bit boring. But when we fought back, that is the most exiting part of the history. Thanks for the reply. ^_^

I majored history in college... and Philippine History is one of my favorite subject... even when i was still in grade school... i would read my father's old philippine history books over an over again... it is just a pity that very little is written about our history before the Spaniards came... and what was written by the friars then were more of the version they wanted to tell the world... and not really the whole truth...

Hello taki. When I was a student, I learned history of our own country in detail to some degree as well as that of some other countries in brief. You know, China is a country with a long history and there is so much to learn about. I am interested in history because it tells what happened in the past. History is something that a citizen is supposed to learn about more or less, especially the history of his own country. Of course, I am also interested in the history of your great country. Also I expect to have enough money to pay a visit to your country because I have so many myLot friends from your country and I used to have a colleague as well as one of my best friend from your country. Thank you for the discussion, friend. Good day.

As a student my favorite subject is History. I often read in advanced not to have a headstart with my classmate but because I am eager to know the next chapter. I'm interested with the stories of people, places and even tragic events. Now that I've graduated from school I'm more interested with computers but my penchant with history especially our Philippine History will never be a history.

I always feel boring about a country history. I prefer science history or physics history than it. OF course it has different parts. I just like to hear about Japanese history, it tells us about wonderful cultures.

actually its only the same over and over again. Philippine History is all about how other races dominates our country. What a History! dont want to go back there either. Just imagine your girlfriend, wife or mother might become a comfort women of the japanese. we really dont have a good history, though in lapu lapu if its for real or revised its quite good. For me our history is kinda boring sorry for that, but its only my opinion though. I much more like japanese history like they have their very own culture, like samurais and stuff, europe has their own kings and knights tales, but for us, um? like we are former slaves. Yeah other countries contribute their culture to us, but how about us?even some of our words and languages came from spaniards.

Phil history is great i mean past history like history of colonization of spaniards,US, and japan. But the history in the making right now starting Marcos regime is so annoying, There are good things and bad things happened during Marcos regime but more on bad things actually, they violate human rights when marcos was still the president. They corrupted our politics thats why it was inherited by our today s politician. I think Filipinos will always suffer here in the phillipines. This country will abandoned my so many people. A nation with laws but not implemented that much.In general,Phil will not get prosperity nor wealthy for all people. From my Prospective point of view its very hard to live here. Although im from mid class family.

Hello taki_takaishi, good day to you my friend. Speaking of history, our country Philippines really have a great history because of the brave heroes who sacrifice their life for us to achieve the freedom of people in the country. That's why the people here in our country always remember those brave people and they do not forget about it. That's the reason in school there is a subject all about the history of our country and it is alwayr teached to all grades in school especially to the elementary students. As i remember when i was in Grade three student to grade six, we always study the history and the brave heroes who sacrifice their self to achieve the freedom of our country. With this subject of history i really find it very interesting and i always read books about it, and i really take advance study with that subject, that's why here in this subject i always got a high grades, especially at the time that i 'm only focused with my study. But in the day that i'm still studying in school, there are some students who do not find this subject very interesting that causes for them to feel lazy, sleepy and weak with that subject. I think one causes of that feeling that the student feel is the boring teachers because there are times that in school life you encounter some lazy teachers, the only way they teach the student is just to give assignment, write and write many paragraphs which sometimes is never been discussed by the teachers, in short the reason is the teachers is not more in discussion which is one of the most important thing in studying the history. I hope in the next generation of people here in our country find this subject very interesting because like Dr.Jose Rizal said "Ang kabataan ang Pag asa ng bayan"(the youth is the hope of our country), which is right because in the feature they will be the only people who will have the great ability to manage the country. But now as we can see, some students did not study well, which is bad for us. I hope the students now must give their focused in studying. Well that's all my response with your forum topic discussion may friend. Happy posting and happy earning to us here in this site mylot. Thank you and have a nice day!

Studying the history of the Philippines is sometimes boring but we need to know our history to inform ourselves. When I was in high school I hate reporting in our History class sometimes I think it is the excuse of the teacher not to teach. Sometimes my classmates never interested to listen to the report. When the test comes you need to memorize the dates and names which is difficult to remember.
