How do you embed a flash into Wordpress.

I have been using Wordpress's free blogging service and I wanted to embed a flash into my post. I pasted the flash's code into the post. In the editing panel, wordpress recognized the code as a flash, but it didn't showed up into the post. It is possible to embed a flash into wordpress? If yes please tell me how.
