Can human being achieve perfection as human ?

This is an accepted and proven fact that at the extreme you can reach around perfection but can not be perfect. Only God is said to have the perfection. For example nothing on the earth is perfect. The seemingly round thing that roles on the smooth surface too is not perfect. It is a little away from being round for there is the force of gravitation on it and hence the force does not allow anything to be perfectly round. The same thing is applied on human beings too. Had we been perfect we would equate ourselves to the level of God and since we are not perfect we are lesser than HIM. Hence we should have no ambition for perfection but we can raise ourselves to the level of sublimity. And that too is through ordeal and pain. What is your idea? Please feel free to express yourself. Rajib. 13.04.09

Okay Rajib, this is not based on any particular religious belief; it is just what I have discovered during my research on the subject and it rings true for me. Firstly, I think that if we were all perfect there would be no point in us being here because I believe the idea of our souls incarnating on the earth plane is to be imperfect humans striving for perfection, therefore learning all the lessons that are here for us, in other words, the earth plane is our school and when we have learned what is necessary for us we move onto another 'plane' where our earthly life is revised and from there it will decided whether we need to return here or whether we are evolved enough to move onto the next spiritual plane. I read somewhere that there are different levels in the 'after world' and that very wise souls such as Jesus reside up at the top being the fifth level or something like that; I don't know if that is fact but I guess it makes some sense.

Hello Paula, so absorbing. Perhaps that is the reason human beings are not perfect and would never be perfect here on the Earth as they are destined to strive hard for the after world state. Surely there is no religious overtone here but the spiritual facts. Thanks a lot.

Is there really such a thing as perfection? Humans are too quick to give in to their baser desires to achieve any kind of personal perfection in themselves. Even those who are self-aware and evolved would end up exhausted tying to behave absolutely perfectly in everything they did at all times. Not even clergy who have taken vows and who serve as the example to everyone else are able to maintain perfect behavior and demeanor at all times. Humans react emotionally most of the time and have particular challenges when it comes to managing anger and angry responses. Although, I feel that people who use the expression "well, nobody's perfect" are making excuses because of their need to rationalize their own behavior.

Hello Canellita, this is indeed a paradox that the Clergy who is vowed to make the most of himself fails to maintain behavior and demeanor. The easily giving in tendency weakens human beings beyond measures. I appreciate your observation. thanks again.

We can never be perfect but we are given life and free will so that we can become self-aware and learn to give of ourselves to others. This is difficult for us because we are naturally selfish. The more we can overcome our selfishness and love our fellow humans, the closer we are to the perfection we will never achieve but are driven to strive for.

No, I don't think human can ever become perfect, only God is perfect. We human has weaknesses and can make mistakes. We can try to be perfect though.

Well as far as I am concerned perfection is a relative and moving target. How do you define perfection. The sense of perfection varies from person to person. We do say that humans are imperfect. And yes this imperfectness is what makes the human race interesting. If we are all too perfect, then there would be no differentiators. And can you imagine life where everything is perfect. Do you think it would be interesting? We can strive to be perfect but we will never ever be perfect, cose we really don't know what we mean by being perfect as i said in my first few lines. Its better to enjoy the minor glitches in ourselfs and live with it because, those are the things which makes us "US". Happy Mylotting. Have a blast!

Hi there, I do not agree, when we talk of human perfection we talk of the perfection embodied on human and that is not relative. the relative thing is the achievement by different people in different pictures. thanks for the response.

Yes, I believe that we humans can never be perfect, it is just too impossible to be a perfect. Perfectionism is too much pressure to put on ourselves. And if you try to do everything perfectly, you won't do anything well. We need to accept our limits and work within them.

Hello zandi, you seem to have zoom in life too close and therefore this input. I agree with you that it is impossible for any human thing to become perfect. What we sometime prescribe to be perfect is the imitation of the perfectness. Besides the concept of perfection involves the entire integrity of the individual. thanks for your response.

Okay, but if God was 200% perfect, he wouldn't have all these children of his (us humans) who are dying, have bad luck, and are miserable, etc. Instead they would be almost equal to him. But no.... he doesn't want to intervene. Woopy-doo.

I can say we are perfect as a human being which means we can make mistakes, we cry, we laugh, we felt sadness, we have success and as well as failure. That's the reason we are called human and not God. Perfection is something that can be achieve by setting standard because first and foremost we really dunno what is the standard for a perfect being. Thus, perfection is something we know that no one can meet the criteria except God.

I think we cant achieve perfection, but the only the limit of perfection that a human has. Everybody has flaws, nobody is perfect but to me perfection of God and perfection for Humans are two diferent things.

God has his impurities too! Otherwise he would have not created volcanoes and Earthquakes, which can lead to make his priceless creature die in a huge amount. So, nothing is perfect not even god.

Hi Rajib..are you telling me I am not perfect?...Alas, I shall be forever sad in this new found knowledge of myself! Ofcourse nobody is perfect, and those that try to pretend they are, have a big lineup behind them, telling other people how so and so thinks they are perfect! So even if you are, you still arent in everyone elses eyes. Humans will be forever critical no matter what we do. We were meant to learn as we live. To be perfect would defeat this purpose. Life would not be as we know it. If everything were perfect, the world could not continue or evolve as it does. I think that we should try to be the best person that we can be, this does not mean however that we are perfect. If we thought we were, we would not be that best person, we would be conceited, which is a fault, thus no longer making us perfect! Have I lost you yet?

Hi sands! This is the great line - "To be perfect would defeat this purpose." very true. Since our learning never ends so perfection is a remote concept. Thanks for the great view. ( Oh no, you are the only perfect dear Sandra...)

Hi, i agree krajibg no one is perfect. Sometimes we look at people in the spotlight such as actors, politicians etc and think wow, he/she is perfect. This can also happen with some of our peers. I am sure there are some circumstances were you wished you could have something that someone else possesses. It is a natural trait and sometimes we do it without even noticing. You know the usual comment or thought so, and so has the perfect body, she is so smart, etc. Although, this is a natural human characteristic we must ensure that it does not get out of hand. There is nothing wrong with wanting to have great qualities that other individual’s hone. However, when you do this constantly or excessively then you might have a problem. Why? You maybe wondering, it’s simple you are wasting your time and energy. It is a useless activity. Well, you might feel a little envious, definitely not a great feeling to strive for. When you focus on your wants and desires then you are actually taking a first step towards self improvement. Let’s face it no one is perfect! However, chances are that if you are given an opportunity to walk on someone else’s shoes; you will be able to pinpoint their flaws immediately and vice versa. Once you focus on you and work on improving, you will lose the urge to compare yourself to others constantly but, most importantly you will feel much happier. Remember, no one is perfect and as long as you learn from your mistakes they are definitely not in vain.

Hi there, this is the 'perfect' illustration of the not possible human perfection aspect. You have so nicely pin pointed the issue that nothing remains to comment back. I rather agree with you that this is human trait to be perfect in his/her way or action taken for accomplishment, but ironically the finished product itself too is not perfect for the concept of perfection is a direct embodiment of human limitation. thanks for the response.
