Tomorrow morning I will have a mastectomy. I'll stay one night in the hospital, so should be home Tuesday. All day today I keep thinking that this time tomorrow I'll only have one breast. It makes me kind of sad, but I know it has to go.
Don't know when I'll feel up to using the computer and getting back on MyLot.

Wow I will definately keep you in my prayers this week. I have a mammogram scheduled for Tuesday. It is my first one. I'm a little scared to be honest, but know that I must get it done now that I'm over 40. Please keep us updated on your progress. Hope you won't be gone too long. Will you have to do chemo as well?

Hey carpenter, hope you got that mammogram. I admit they are not fun, but if it detects a cancer it is worth it. Also do your self exams because the mammogram won't pick up everything. I found my lump and it still didn't show up on the mammogram.
My surgery went well, came home the next day and I am feeling well. I go back for my post op visit on Apr. 22. They expect that I will need radiation and chemo, but the oncologist will determine that for sure.

I'm glad you're home. yes, I did get the mammogram done, and I have to tell you that it wasn't nearly as bad as i thought it would be. Many had me scared because they said how bad it hurt. The technician really put me at ease, and she was very gentle and it didn't even hurt at all. It was uncomfortable.

I will be thinking of you hoping that all will go well for you tomorrow and certain that all will go well afterwards, I have a friend who has been through this just over four years ago and I remember her thoughts at the time. It is now a thing of the past and she is so happy now.
You will be the same I'm sure
I will be away for a week from next week-end and I hope that when I return you will be feeling much better and will be back here among your friends too.
Good luck and take care! Hugsssss!
