I have a chihuahau/pomeranian mix, his name is Jeffery. Lately, he has been making friends with the stray cats in our back yard. It's fun to just watch how at first they would be jumpy with each other and now they actually play. Take off to chase each other. Yes, I am talking about cats having fun with a dog.. So now I will make sure I take him out in the back so he has time to play with his new friends.

That is so cute!! My dog also loves cats, but most of the cats around here are terrified of him, of course he's bigger than your dog, he's a Boxer so he's probably 4 times the size of the cats he wants to play with, they probably think he wants lunch, LOL!

I can imagine how that looked.. My other dog was a Rotweiler/doberman mix, her name was Princess, she was my best friend for many years until someone poisoned her. Took me several years to get another one which is now Jeffery. Got him because my daughter was raising them and needed to sell the pups so I helped her out. I am happy that I did. Jeffery fills that empty spot I had for along time.. Enjoy your day, :)

Aww, that's so cute...I love seein gcats and dogs get along...Cz you know those cliche cartoons and movies with the cats and dogs always bickering...I've never though that was through but well guess your dog and those cats are the living proof ^_^ My pet is a persian kitty, and she looks somewhat like the kitty on the pet food Friskies...haha..She's a lovable and timid one..My special moments? Whenever i walk around the house, i don;t know why but she like's to chase my feet...She watches out for my feet and then she'll pounce on them like they're monsters or something...-.- I'm never surprised, used to it i guess...lol ^_^

One of the joys of owning a pet is some of the tender moments we share with them, or even just watching them. I have a large German Shepherd, and she is also gentle with the kitties. We had a baby kitten that was a stray (her Mom got killed by a coyote.) I brought it in and dropper fed it and kept it on the porch with the screen door between the dog and the kitty. That dog sat with her nose pressed on the screen constantly. I was worried that she wouldn't accept it, or maybe she thought it was a rodent or something lol. But when I did introduce them nose to nose, she adopted that little kitty and let it crawl all over her. The other thing she did that touched me, was when my daughter got a little shitzipoo puppy. It was really tiny, and as puppies do, it would pester the big dog soooooo much lol. One day the shepherd was eating from her bowl in the kitchen. The puppy was ignoring her own bowl with puppy chow in it, and was jumping up and down constantly on the shepherd. I must say she was so patient. Then when she couldn't take it anymore, she took a huge mouthful of her own food, set it on the floor by the puppy, and went back to eating her meal. It's amazing that they can recognize another animal as being a baby and taking extra care. I'd expect that with her own brood, but another dog's? Now that the pup's older, they are constant company and play together, share bones, and it's constantly amazing to watch them!
