When your child is teething. My baby Sebastian is only 3 months old and is drooling like no other. I have felt a few swollen areas in his mouth that i think may be buds but im not sure. What type of things did you use to help your child while teething as well? He is fussy more often than not lately and it just breaks my heart. I never thought that being a mother would be so heart breaking most of the time.

Hi STardustw83, Welcome to motherhood :) ! Yes your son could be teething my son had his two bottom teeth break trough at 4 months old. Look for teething tablets. Wal-mart carries them behind the pharmacy counter now. They work great and ease the baby's pain. They also work pretty good for colic too. AS far as the heart break, well you have joined the club of the eternally caring MOM. Good Luck and God Bless!!

I'm not sure what the best thing is, but a teething ring, somethig cold that he can suck on, I think they might even sell something that you can rub on his gums to ease the pain. Just look around the baby aisle and I'm sure people will have many suggestions. Girl, you better get used to how you feel right now because there will be many more instances where you feel the same way. Oh, and if you think those swollen areas are buds than they probably are. Good luck! Look on the bright side, he is getting his first set of teeth.

If the beginnings of teething break your heart, you are going to be an over protective mother. There are some things from which you cannot protect your child, and teething is one of them. There are some things that you can do to ease it, though. Giving the child something rough and/or cold to chew on will help. We used to give our babies frozen celery sticks to chew on. You will find a number of teething rings in the baby section of supermarkets and dollar stores that can be frozen. There are also some commercial products that numb the gums, but I'd use those sparingly. Teething is something that every baby has to go through. I will admit that it seems as if it goes on forever.

Well first i will say thank you for commenting, However i do not feel that i will be an over proctective mother because i find him teething heart breaking i mean honestly, this is my first child and ANY pain that he goes through i will find heart breaking and i think as a mother if you don't then you must be cold hearted

It does sound like that could be the start of teething. When my children were teething, I use to give them milk biscuits. Teething can be a bit of frustrating time, because the teeth can come up and then disappear. Some teething gel at night can help baby sleep. It just helps numb the gums. As for feeding, they could go off their foods just a bit, but when they do eat, take advantage of it. I wish you all the best and hope that you get through teething with ease.

I've gone through the teething stage with three children and I have to say that the best thing to give them is "Teething tablets." They look like mini marshmallows and have natural ingredients. They worked better then ora-gel.
