Cold weather might cause me some problems

Two weeks ago my husbnd put our vegetable garden in - this pic is only half of it. I haven't had a garden in YEARS and he's NEVER done one. The weather was pretty warm there for a while, but the last two days have been very cold. This morning was below freezing and yesterday was pretty close. There hasn't really been any frost out there, but I don't now how well my veggies are going to grow. We do have a few sprouts - not that you can see them. The cucumbers are the only thing we see outside with any activity going on, I just don't know how this weather is going to affect everthing out there.

Don't know if grandpa Bob has responded to this discussion yet, since I am responding through my email, but he would be a good one to ask since he grows a garden every year and lives in a cold state, Minnesota I believe. If it was me and calling for a heavy frost, I would cover anything that has sprouted with something such as buckets or plastic trash bags. I haven't grown a garden since I was younger and that's been a very long time. Hope everything comes out okay for you with your garden.

I think the only thing that has sprouted are a couple cucumbers, but I haven't had time enough to get down there and really see what's going on. These couple cold days were way out of whack so I think I'm ok now.

Nothing's come up yet... I need to really go down there and look it all over and see what's going on though...

I wish i could have my garden planted by now! Theres still snow and the ground is still pretty frozen here. I have to wait til the end of may to plant. When i do - i tend to watch for frost warnings then go out and cover anything thats sprouted with blankets buckets and plastic tarps.
