Have you ever found something that you had bought and forgot about?

While cleaning my bedroom closet yesterday I found a few things that I had forgotten that I had bought...two things were still in the bag from the store. I also had forgotten some dishes I had bought so today I am going to rearrange things in my dining room and put out my new dishes. So have you had things you found later that you had forgotten you had bought?

It has happened to me with clothes. So often I will be wondering what to wear and I will come across an item I bought ages ago that possibly still has the tag on it! I'm not spoilt. it's just that I work from home so I tend to wear the same things around the house and I don't dress up much these days so I don't get around to wearing new things as often as I used to.

I have done this a lot. I think the reason this happens to me is because I put something somewhere so that I won't loose it and then ending up basically hiding from myself. I am just glad to find someone else who has done this.

I tend to buy little things through out the year for stocking stuffers - sometimes i forget what i got and other times i know what i got but its not in the stocking stuffer shelf. I found a bunch of scarves and mitts that are really nice i had bought last summer for christmas at a close out sale (10 cents each) i had forgotten all about until i found them last week.

I have found Christmas presents I brought several years ago and forgot to give. Once in a while I find a scarf or skirt I forgot I brought.

Yes, all the time. I can recall years and years ago going to a home party and buying some erasers that were shaped like a man's body part. They were so hysterical. I put them in the top of a closet so our kids wouldn't find. Last year while looking for something in that closet, there they were staring at me. I started laughing and had totally forgotten about them. I should give them now to our kids since they are all grown and think it's funny. I also found some very interesting, tiny candles that were Santa Claus. Guess I didn't want to burn them and just tossed them in the top of the closet. Think they had a birthday last Christmas and would have been 15-20 years old.

This cluttering and saving is a really bad habit I picked up from somewhere. Saving and saving and no reason except to take up space. I get so angry with myself..lol

I used to do this quite often. I would see something and think, "oh this would be great for so and so's birthday/Christmas present", buy it, stash it in the closet and not be able to find it when I needed it! Bad habit..LOL!

I do it most years for Christmas presents. I buy things most of the year so I am not trying to spend all that money at once, and it never fails that there is something in that closet that hides from me until the last minute. I have gotten to the point where I make a list of all of those who I need to buy for, and then I write things down as I buy them so I know exactly what I have and don't have. This also helps so I don't over buy for some and leave someone out and am out at the last minute NOT finding what I want for someone!

Hey jill! Isn't that the best when you find something that you totally forgot about buying! I wish that I would do that more often! It's been awhile since I have found anything that wonderful, but occasionaly I do get lucky! And it is just so fun when finding a rare treasure that you forget buying so I know exactly how you feel! Enjoy your new found dishes! I know I sure would!

No i have never forgotten about things i have bought. Usually the first thing i do when i get home is take everything out of the bags that i have bought to make sure they are away and that i know i have them. Even when i go on vacation and i come back i remember to always unpack the shopping bags first so i can put things away that i have bought. I'm a freak when i get home from shopping or on vacation because i want to know what i bought if i have forgotten and take everything out of the bags to see what everything was and i get excited when i do this. It's a relief for me to spend some type of money.

I believe there are some more things which I had bought and yet to discover hidden somewhere. Recently as I was searching for a timer I knew I had bought, I discover a USB hub which I had bought years ago. Along in the back is a paper weight and a mouse. 3-in-1 discovery. lol.

Hello jillhill, I do forget some stuff that I bought earlier sometimes and when I do my cleaning, I start to find all the stuff scattered in my wardrobe most of the time. But normally, they are just small stuff like costume jewelries or make up products. The reason? I always buy and try to hide them from my husband who is against my shopping habit!

Yes, this has happened to me, too. ;) I have found articles of clothing, etc. that I had purchased and forgot about. This happened to me a few times. I was extremely busy and stressed out both times this occurred. It feels good, however, to discover the items that were purchased and then forgotten about! Have a lovely day.

Oh I do this all of th time. My home is so small and we are jam packed with boxes of things under the beds etc. I often go into the boxes under the bed and find all sorts of things. What really gets up my nose is if I buy something that I already had. Because, I forget what is in the said boxes under the bed! No, I do not want an extra room as my son and twins are only living with me temprarily and this is a blessings for me. So I am happy with the spacde under the bed being jam packed. as one day ther will only be me in the house. Blessings

I used to have that happen to me very now and then. But now I only buy what I need or really really want so it's usually hard to forget about it. Plus I have made it a habit of getting all my stuff together, clothes, receipts, trash and sorting it out in its different places before I do anything else when I get home. It takes some disciplene but it has really saved me a lot of heartache and hassle.
