In response to the killing of the pirates holding Cpt. Phillips hostage, pirates of Somalia have stated that "every country will be treated the way it treats us".
Hey, you hypocritical waste of human flesh! You are holding people hostage and demanding money. You are already mistreating our countrymen, so why shouldn't our militaries mistreat you!
You chose to be pirates, a status that only has one treatment... find you and kill you.
How about this... We won't kill you if you leave the ships alone.
Sounds like a good deal to me.
We only like the pirates we see in movies or play baseball in Pittsburg.. the "real" pirates can rot, forgotten and alone... slow, painful deaths in the depths of the cold ocean is much better than a pirate ever deserved.

I agree any time someone has taken on of our American's hostage, then we will do what it takes to try and free him before the situation goes any farther. Like one said, there should be armed guards on these ships and ready to defend. If you try to take the ship you die, I don't care what nation the ship is from. This ship I hear was taking much needed supplies to a country that was in need. We are trying to help and this is what we get for the help we offer. I guess knowing that it is possible that the ship might be attacked we should just sit back and say will to hell with those in need. I think the ones that take on this task of going through this body of water and knowing that this could happen to them are very brave people. I don't understand if there is another route that could be taken why it is not offered to the ships that are there.
As far as American's making a big deal out of this, it is one of OUR ships and one of OUR men,and as long as we can do something about it then we should, if the other countries chose to let them take their men hostage and don't do anything about it then that is their business, but when you mess with our men and ships we will do what it takes to get our men out safetly.

So the next time the US takes a Somali hostage, Somali pirates will wait an extraordinarily long amount of time to allow for negotiation and fire when negotiations don't work? I am pretty okay with that.

Why would we be taking hostages? We'd just arrest the morons for crimes. If the Somali pirates want to attempt a rescue, then I'm sure the sharks would be thrilled to find their carcasses floating in the water. Good luck storming a naval battleship with a skiff and grappling hook.
I believe the wait during this episode was to wear them down since there is a limited amount of food in the lifeboat. People are usually quicker to surrender when they have no food. That got one of the pirates to surrender. He's probably thrilled at the decision he made as he's the only survivor.

I don't think you get my point. The pirates are acting like we did something terrible to them, when in fact, it was the other way around and we were being pretty nice by giving them plenty of negotiating time.

Yup, I'm okay with that too... as long as it ends with a .50 Caliber eye patch. :~D

Since the Iran hostage crisis I have thought the act of negotiation is lost on these people. They can't be reasoned with. Back then I believed the US should have handled it differently and it the end what happened weakened us in the eyes of the world.
All these people understand is shoot fire, ask questions later.

I agree. They have a lot of nerve getting upset with us for rescueing one of our own that was being held hostage.
THese "pirates" are nothing more than criminals. And should be treated as such.
Want America to leave you alone? Then leave us alone. We did not start this fight but we definately are capable of finishing it.

I think everybody over there is just shocked that we, (the USA) finally had enough of their crap and picked them off one by one! America has always been a (help everyone) country and we are too kind to a lot of the wrong people, so when (we) finally did something as cool as having sharp shooters pick them off, the world was shocked! Personally I loved it! They got just what they deserved and I hope that happens to the rest of the dirty pirates!!!

I agree with you 100%. I personally think this may just be bluster on their part. The day they start executing people is the day we take this seriously and exterminate them the way we did hundreds of years ago in our own waters. Our ships are already there.
The "every country will be treated the way it treats us" is garbage since this whole situation happened after they broke their promise to exchange the captain for their own shipmate. Once you break an agreement like that you lose all credibility. The pirates record of honoring agreements and ransoms is the only thing that's kept them around this long.
In reality I think these pirates are smart enough to return to their earlier practice of ignoring US ships in favor of Europeans. They'll focus on country's whose spineless leaders have rewarded their criminal acts with million dollars in ransom money. Killing Americans isn't profitable and any warlord worth his salt should know that.

Morning Ted, Did you hear on the news yesterday what they are saying about the pirates? Our stupid government is wanting to pump a bunch of our tax dollars into that little rat hole called Somalia. They want to build the country up so those poor little deprived pirates won't have to hijack ships to make a living. The only thing that anyone needs to pump into Somalia is a bunch of bullets and bombs.
I just hope all these stupid Americans that just could not live without Obama as "Their" President are happy now. You are getting exactly what you deserve but you have brought a bunch of crap on a lot of us that don't deserve it. This should teach you something, but it won't. I for one have just about to the point where I am ashamed to admit that I am an American. Before Obama is finished a lot more will feel the same way.

Pirates are a pain to the development of the world. The major powers should unite and once for all eradicate these pirates so that the sea will be a safer place to sail about These in turn to could contribute to the economic well-being and peace of the world

Why Somalian Government tolerates and never caught the pirates there. I think the kidnapping there is like a business to them. Filipino seamen are affected of this kidnapping. I know that the situation there in Somalia is difficult. They don't have a source of income in this kidnapping is there source of income. I hope their Government find a solution to find kidnapping there.
