Having fun with the kids

I love having my grandaughter to stay. She's five now, going on six. I can almost forget my age when I'm enjoying myself alongside her. We've just trekked around the Play Trail at the Moors Valley Country Park, where you go from one adventure playground to another through pine woods, and watch bigger kids Go(ing) Ape in the treetops as you pass. The only trouble is we all got home feeling exhausted, but muggins has to set to and cook the dinner. What do you do to have fun with your kids/grandkids or borrowed kids?

I usually just include them in what ever I am doing. If I'm cooking we cook together, we do laundry together or dusting or weeding the garden, that takes some watching though because at 6 one flower often looks like a weed.

That's nice too, and my little one also loves to 'help', generally making everything take twice as long, but much more fun.

I usually have pillow fights with them, or the tickling session, where she wants me to tickle her until she laughs her heart out. Sometimes we go malling and eat at her favorite fastfood resto- Jollibee. Sometimes we sing actions songs. She's 4 and will be enrolling in the ballet class this summer. She's so excited about it.

Oh, you'll soon be going to the ballet concerts and being all proud of her in her little tutu.

Used to love Moors Valley, though prefered the miniture railway than the adventure trails.

Thanks Mr TH. It was too packed today. They were turning cars away as we left. Last time we went on the train but the queue was too long today. Great place, whatever.

That's sad. But at least you have some memories. And if those kids are now grown, they may be having some of their own soon.
