Does anyone remember this movie?

I'm trying to remember the name of a movie, it was based in Germany when Hitler was around. It's about a boy telling the true story about when his family was captured and sent to camps. The whole time his dad tells him that they are building a tank and at the end his dad dies and a u.s. tank comes to rescue him and takes him to his mom who was at another camp. If anyone remembers please let me know because I love this movie! Thanks in advance for your responses.
