That is the link to the full story, but apparently Spain is offended by recent European commercials for Burger King that misrepresent Mexico, hispanics, spanish, and Spain in general. I've not seen the commercial in question as it didn't play over here, or at least I've not seen it. I've had the new spicy burger twice, not sure what the heck they call it, but I didn't care for it so I've not ordered it again.
In reading the article I saw that apparently this is why the little chihuahua disappeared on Taco Bell commercials. I find it funny because not too long ago on Comedy Central I saw the comedian who did the voice for the little Taco Bell dog and he's hilarious! I was like, how could anyone be offended by a cute little dog. I mean, I don't see anyone complaining about the new chihuahua movie by disney featuring some very popular comedic voice overs.
What do you all think? Will you boycott Burger King over this? (Not that I'm promoting fast food mind you, I try to avoid it when at all possible-but now and then I have those sinful momements
).

Hi Anora_ Eldorath,
To be very frank i hate people who would try to make fun of a culture, person, country or race just for commercial purposes. It helps no one and it has been reported daily in Indian papers that this American or European company made fun of this Hindu God or that Hindu God.It gives very bad taste in mouth. Just think how these very people like if they become butt of jokes. I dont say u as a friend cant joke on me or my country or my religion with me but when you are doing commercial thing then you are trying to spread hate and good thing Burger King is not in India, or probably i would have boycotted it if it did same for Indians.

Agrim-
The problem is, I've not seen the commercial, and I don't think many American's have because it was pulled before it hit here. I'm not sure if anyone truly went out of their way in the business world to say "Let's broadcast this because we hate this culture". I think at times we downplay the things that are truly hate mongering, and make a big thing out of things that aren't. It keeps our attention off what is really occuring in various countries. At least that is how I view network television here in the US.
Again, if anyone should have been offended it would have been the little person's community, and I haven't read anything on it yet.
Speaking of India, I was shocked when Deepak Chopra spoke so highly of The Love Geru by Mike Meyers, which offended me and I'm not even Indian.
Thank you again for your comments. Namaste-Anora
