Another horrific accident - will it ever end?

It seems that we Malaysians rarely learn from what had befallen other people. Mpnday 13th April marks another black mark in Malaysian driving history. Six people died when the double decker bus they were in skidded and hit the road driver. One passenger was thrown out of the bus. The co-driver died due to decapitation by the road railing. The incident happened at around 5.16am. The driver claimed he was not speeding. Yet the accident happened while he was overtaking another express bus. If he was not speeding how could he overtake any vehicle? There have been serious accidents caused by excessive speeding express buses. The speed limit for them is 90km per hour, yet most of them cruise at 120km per hour. When the Road Transport Department or Traffic Police Department carries out an operation these drivers would go at less than 90km/h. Maybe the sentence or fine for traffic violation is relatively low. To reduce or avoid further similar accidents heavier punishments should be meted out. For example the fine for causing an accident should be a multiplication factor of the speed and weight of the vehicle. Anyone has any other suggestion9s) or rant on this matter to pent out? rosdimy
