what makes you deppressed and what you're doing to fight it?

during my childhood, i was active- from the family i came from,to the group of friends and peers of my age, to the church and to the community i belong.i used to be an enthusiastic girl.but after a terrible part in my life happened i keep myself away from the people especially to those who knows us both refraining from being asked.i wanted to be alone.i know i can do it.the people around me they believe in me that i can stand on my own. and i dont want to fail their expectations.i like to forget evrything and concentrate to think for the future.but i suffer depression sometimes.im trying to keep myself busy for worthwhile things but still cant have good sleep.and what makes me more depressed is that when i cant see a smile from the people around me.i dont like their sympathy as well.

Not meeting my expectations and some financial issues make me depressed sometimes, especially if it the issue is brought up by my mom or any member of my family. Early this year, my parents lost their jobs. My brother and my aunt lost theirs, too. My aunt lives with my parents along with her 2 toddlers, another high schooler cousin of mine and my brother's fiancee. I'm the only one who lives apart from them and right now, the family's bread-winner. Somehow it's depressing thinking of ways to make both ends meet for all of them, especially now that our company got hit by recession really badly, and I didn't get the monetary incentive that I was supposed to get this month for not having any absences nor coming in a minute late for work. Anyway, thinking about those things is really stressful so I just stop doing it. I just stop worrying because it's not going to solve anything. I just try to give myself a break and enjoy life. I try to be positive so I won't be depressed.

Well, there are so many things that make me depressed such as health problems, family issues, financial dilemmas among others.. but my top concern is my health.. i've been suffering from it for so many years and it's the main reason why i can't go back to school, do the things i love, do the things i have never done before and many many more.. i can't do something about it and that sucks! you know, i would like to live longer, finish my studies and make my parents proud of me and my achievements.. complete healing/good health is all i've been asking for..

what's wrong? is your illness that terrible? you don't look sick to me. Girl have you seen "one litter of tears"? It's really a heartwarming series of making life happen and making a difference despite physical disabilities. Though I don't know your situation, but I pray for your well being! ^--^ God bless!

dont worry too much.worry will give you nothing but more illed.lets help ourselves to be kept away from depresion.by being aware of our mind to think of i know we can get rid of it.i pray for you too that youll get well soon.

See if you get depress just look around you. You will find lots of people having more problems then you. Like i do have many problems but thats what the life is. If everything is going smooth then who will struggle and what about the bad moments. we should fight and should not loose our self. Thats the key to get success. I do follow the same. Today i dont have nything but still fighting to have everything. thats the life dear.

There is nothing with feelings sad,angry, frustrated or burnt out. But we should do something about it. Such as join a game, to have a month travel, to learn more or earn more money. The worst thing I met that make me depressed recently is that I want to get married but she won't.

I get depressed mainly because I do not currently have a job and the job situation in my country is very bad, I want to get back to work but there is a shortage of jobs, I also get depressed because I want my own home or place to be where I can live alone, I need my space and privacy and independence, because I haven't got a job I cannot afford to own or rent my own place, it's a lose lose situation and I get very frustrated about and sometimes angry. Having no job also affects my self esteem and prospects for a happy future.

That's too bad, but I guess you will be able to rise above it all...at least you're aware about the depression. Of course, when depressed those things which make us happy don't anymore make you happy....it's also difficult to wake up in the morning...you have a heavy heart, and you feel so low, and down, and it's not just right. I have also my own bouts of depression, although no one noticed it because it does not really show...but inside me I felt so lousy and disinterested in what's going around. I'm happy that's all behind me now and has then moved on...totally. Here's wishing you'll be able to lick it soon...

What makes me depressed is having to live from paycheck to paycheck, I hate it and I hate having to work for someone even though I have to do it and it is necessary for now. What i'm doing to fight it is do as many legit online opportunities as possible and write my own book.

Well, i had so many frustrations most on my life. and most of them are part of my first few discussions here. but thanks to my family, my hubby and some Friends who works as a Psychiatrist helped get through the pains i had. well, for depression either I stay alone and not let any one talked to me or i got and say it with my hubby and let him stay with me until i feel free and okay.

when i am dipressed i try to go for a long walk.some times its not possible for me to get away from home.then i try to watch a movie on t.v,and try to contact a friend of mine and unburden my thoughts.

Hi christian I truely understand how you fell over this depressing situation but take it positively my friend. I am glad that you have taken steps to make yourself busy and try forgetting the terrible situation that have happened in your life. This itself clearly shows one day you will be like how you used to be again because you are taking every effort to be who you are. The matter that has caused you to be like this may not be a easy situation. Always remember we are human beings and we will think about it some how no matter how much we try but we will slowly stop it. I guess you need some time for yourself. Dont keep yourself away from others because you never know if they will be able to make you recover faster. Always take their smile positively. Do no think that they are smiling to show sympathy. There are a lot of things that makes me depressed like if ever i haven't accomplish to do something which is very important for me sometimes it makes me feel depressed and so on. there are many things you can do to minimize or fight depression. First you learn how to become more active. Depressed people often become inactive, they feel that they don't have energy or that activities no longer gives them any satisfaction. You can start looking at the way you think about yourself, your life and future. You will learn how changing the way you think can change the way you feel. Once you know what kind of unhealthful thoughts you are using, you can practice changing the way you think every day. You learn how to think constructively about yourself and life in general. You will be able to learn how to use this new knowledge to deal better with your life. You will then learn how to avoid making the mistakes which might bring on another bout of depression.

When I am depressed, I usually lock myself in the room and cry myself out until I feel great. I do not know but when I cry it out, I feel that the burden is lightened and I do not feel so bad anymore. I call this as tear therapy. Usually when I keep the depression to myself, it will only make matters worst. So what I do is just cry it out.

Well,I am sorry to hear that.I don't know what happened to you,but I hope you will be happy again.I also have this kind of experience,in fact,almost everyone has.There was a time when I cannot do well in my study and my teacher give up on me.I was so deppressed that I wanted to give up myself.But I didn't.I tried every means to catch up with my classmates and after a long time's hard work,I made it!Now I am in college now,if I kept on been depressed at that time,I cannot imagine what kind of person I will be!Hope you will get rid of this kind of mood soon! hmmmm..I get depressed when my expectations are not met. Like if I set a goal and don't get to achieve it and plans that are not realized in the least possible time. I get disappointed, at times I would cry. But I just cry it out for perhaps one whole night if possible, pray to God and pour my heart out, my fears, anxieties, doubts and everything, then I asked for a word of encouragement from the Bible and voila! I'm off on my feet again! Then I let go and let God, I don't think about it, and think of alternatives instead. ^-----------^
