Most of us heard about the lists that went out last month and got leaked to the press in MO. Well they agreed to redo the list taking out Ron Paul and third party candidates names out of it. But they have not changed how they are going to profile people.
A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.
Believe in state's rights? Or only letting the federal government have the power laid out for them in the constitution? Well you are now an "extremist" and a danger to your own country.
The nine-page document was sent to police and sheriff's departments across the United States on April 7 under the headline, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."
http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/apr/14/federal-agency-warns-of-radicals-on-right/
If you decide to read the whole article it is three pages. But it is a good read. Anyone that thought homeland security was not going to go after third party candidate supporters,Ron paul supporters or C4L supporters after the last blow up is just fooling themselves. They changed the wording to take out specific polticans names out but htey are still focusing on people who support or agree with their policies.
What do you think about this? What should be done? If anyone actually has a copy of the nine page document sent out in its new form on april 7 please let me know.

It'll come down to anybody saying anything negative about the government will be on the watch list. This is crazy. We all are starting to fit that description. Don't they have something more important to do? Like watching the real terrorists?

Well, that depends on who feels threatened by even the best constructive criticism of our current government. If we all labor away with our often on target criticism, it will eventually reach enough people to have doubts in what is being done and sold to them as 'good for them and the greater good'. Now that would greatly undermine anything and everything that they still plan to do, wouldn't it? Alas, if you are trying to undermine the government, you are a terrorist, no matter how peaceful the way;)
It's a crazy world we live in.

it sure is crazy. to think that it has gotten to this point in this country that people can be labeled a terrorist for just not agreeing with the government on everything. Wow.....that is really going to be a lot of poeple. No one ever completely agrees with everthing the government does.

it would seem that they think we are more of threat than the real terrorist. Why they feel that way I don't know, but they do.

So what about states that have, through their legislatures, made such assertions of authority? Is South Carolina now a "terrorist state"? Is Oklahoma now a "terrorist state"? What about Texas, Washington or the 20 other states that have either passed or are writing such legislation? If this is how they now define terrorist, than I am a proud terrorist advocate.
It's time to disolve this union folks. It's broken and the agent we hired to run it's affairs has gone rogue. The states are the true and rightfull government authority, and it is time we disolved the general government and install one that will adhere to the contract that creates it.

well that comment just got you on the homeland security watch list.
But seriously, this is really ticking me off. Homeland security is now being used as a scare tatic and weapon against people just for having different political beliefs as the current administration. THis is dangerous and beyond wrong.

I have a feeling it is only going to get worse. Right now they are openingly profiling people. YOu know why we know about these lists? Because they want us to. They want to scare people into not voicing their opinions or being politically active. It will work. SOme people will simply stop. They will be too scared to speak out for fear of something bad happening to them. Then when only the hardcore ones are left....then you will see them start arresting people.

Well I guess I am a right wing extremist because I believe in State's rights. I have outside my house a Gadsden flag, the Don't Tread On Me flag. I am waiting for a government official to come to my house and demand that I take that flag down. I do wonder what the government is going to do with all of those tax day tea parties going on tomorrow.
Are you going to be at one?

yep. I think there will be too big of a turn out for them to really do much of anything. But I think they will be there watching to see what happens.

They expect us to just forget about this, basically. But no thanks, I'll probably remember this til the day I die. They're really scared of us Ron Paul supporters, aren't they? *smazed*
What should be done? What can we do really? It's a POLICY, not a bill, so it's not like we can squeeze our polticians to change it. And letters to the President don't usually get there. Wait until they try to come arrest us and contact the ACLU? I dunno.
