The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (N. Korea, DPRK) just announced that it is leaving the 6-party talks, and a few weeks ago it fired a satellite (or missile) into space, but it crashed. All this endangers the security of the world. What do you feel about North Korea and Kim Jong-il's behaviour, especially if you are a US citizen? Share your views.

North Korea behaves like a spoilt child that throw tantrums until it gets what it wants, this country does the same thing over and over again, when times get real tough for the regime in power.

First you have to understand that you are dealing with a person who thinks it is more important to have one of the worlds largest standing Armies. To him it is more important that his army be well fed and supplied with the laterst weapons that it is for his people to be fed. I have freinds in Sout Korea and they tell me that the people in the North are down to eating the Bark off the trees. The leaves were eated earlier. North Korea is also one of the few countries that has no phone service or internet service for the citizens. You are dealing with a man who is crazy and mentally unstable.

I believe that China needs to take the lead in this as they are North Korea's neighbor and are best able to make life difficult for Kim Jong-Il's regime and his country should they choose to. Of course, the responsible nations of the world cannot allow an unstable dictatorship like this one to obtain nuclear capabilities. It puts everyone at risk. Kim Jong-Il believes that he can do anything he likes but there are repercussions for his behaviour and, hopefully, he will see the light before he sees the flash of a missile hitting his nuclear power plant.
