Today I came back home after being in the army. Now I saw my little cousin sitting in our couch. The last time I saw her was about 2 years ago, and I've noticed that something is wrong with her. She has changed since the last time I saw her. She's a cute girl in the age of 5, and she does not communicate with people around her. She just sat in our couch, and clap hands wierdly that made me almost teared. I never saw an autism such nearly, specially when it's in my close family. I started thinking to myself what this young girl did wrong that she deserve this ? What do you about autism ? Do you have someone near you who has autism ? Please share your thoughts.

I remember one time, I joined some voluntary work to play with some autism children, they were all 5-10 years old and had hard times talking, expressing themselves, communicating with internals. It is pretty sad to see them like that but what we can do is be patient and try to talk and open their little world, try to get information of what they are thinking.

Once you learn more about Autism you will learn to accept it. My son was diagnosed with Autism... he is 3 & is doing good with therapy. Autistic children need Therapy for everything, everyday, ALL DAY... just can't give up on them... Autistic children can grow to be hard working adults & even marry, plus have kids of their own. She might be 5 & she might not talk now, but one day she might... Don't feel sorry for your cousin.... help her instead... Research Autism & see what you can do to help...

dont dispair to much I have worked with Autistic people and they are most often very caring and interesting people . Depending on the level of their abilities they can learn good behaviours and to be fairly independent . I know one young man now 22 living in his own accomadation with good support to help him live as independently as he can ..

You right, but I started thinking what will happen next when she will get older. How she will get married, and start build her life. She doesn't speak, and not contact people at all, even if I call her by her name.

Hi there! I know what you feel. But there are a lot of organization that will help autistic kids to live a normal life. Maybe you can check that out to learn more on how to take care of such kids. You can also search for some websites that will give you a lot of information on howto deal with it. I know it's really hurting to see someone you love that she/he is not like any other kids. But you can help her by talking to her and taking her to places that you think she will enjoy. Happy my lotting to you!!!
