How to get people to visit a blog?

I'm interested in starting a blog. My question is how do people make money from blogging? Is it just by placing ads on the blogs? What if no one wants to click on those ads? I don't have a clue how to get people to visit a blog either. I heard that you need to get traffic, but how?

You need to submit it to search engines, social networking and bookmarking sites, and also blog submission sites like Blog Catalog and BustaBlog, you might wanna sign up for some ping services too like pingomatic.

What you are doing is one way, also, put your blog link on your myspace, mylot and any other pages you have in your name.

Hi, I have a blog too. What is yours about? You could try blogging about some games to get traffic; that's what I do. You could have a lot of different categories for all types of people, then all types of people would come!
