How does facebook change your life?

yes im there on face book but now i dont go to that site any more because it caused me lot of pain in my heart.well i thought that i would be able to chat to my old friends there and our friendship would strengthen, but what happened was totally different. every one whom i added as my friend ignored me , and when ever i wanted to chat to them they never replied . so i can say that that site really told me who were my real friends and who were not.
