It doesn't matter if you're a multi-billionaire or on food stamps you are still a consumer. Do you realize the power the consumers in the United States actually have? There is only one little thing lacking for "We the people" to be able to use this power and totally control anything we choose in this country. It doesn't matter if it's the price of Gasoline or who is elected President of the United States. The consumer could very easily control it. This power is only usable if the consumers are united and all pulling together. The consumers are not united and that is what we should be working on. Just the working people could unite into a force that could not be stopped. What we need is people that could put this together. With the internet it wouldn't be all that hard and wouldn't take all that long. One good web site and one chat group where the consumers could receive information and make suggestions. Yahoo has all the chat groups we would need. I would be more than happy to set up a Yahoo group and operate it. Surely someone has a web site that could be converted. Then it would just be a matter of members contacting the general public and informing them of the group and what we do. In simple terms the money the consumer spends needs to be controlled on who gets it. If you can do that you can put producers and retailers on their knees real quick. You could also put the government on their knees too. You cut off the sales of large companies that have the ability to put pressure on the government and you can control anything you choose. The power of the consumer is the key to solving a bunch of our problems real quick in this country. Think about it. Art

problem is the idea of people all joining together for the greater good and looking out for each other is a bit tooo close to socialism for a larger bnumber of the American posters here
