my mother told me a few weeks ago that Obama was interviewed and was being asked a few questions/the man who was interviewing him asked him if he bowled in the whites house's bowling place. Obama replied that he did, but didn't o very good,he said something low then laughed and said "i guess i could qualify for the special Olympics". Now a bunch of special Olympics kids are all pissed and trying to get Obama to apologize and come play in one of there events.they view his little joke as something extremely offensive.i swear, if this actually happens..I bet they're just doing it to meet him, or just get him into trouble.it kind of ticks me off :\ Your opinions? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_IONqeHo7k Link where he made the joke.

We are Special Olymipics material in one subject area or another. To point that out in ourselves, should make people with apparent difficulty with every day activity feel more accepted, not like being offended. Having difficulty in a subject area and knowing that every human being is gifted with limitations, including our President, and getting offended is like having an additional limitation, and that last limitation is brought on by being complexed about a limitation. Again, so many people are complexed for even a minor perceived problem like being chubby, boney, too dark skinned, have bad teeth, not being able to spell, etc., that becomes it's a difficult to socialize, work and live, other people. No wonder more and more people are becoming reclusive and spending more and more time alone, instead of just accepting people for what they are; limited, and having people accept you for what you are; limited. Get over it; we are all limited. There are people with physical abnormalities including that effect the thought process as well as physical movement and others with just physical limitations. Now if everyone becomes complexed about their own personal limitation, well then, this is going to be a major problem. The greatest limitation is believing that one is perfect and above another, when in fact, regardless of out lot, or status, at the end, we all go with barely a dress on our backs, and the only property claimed is the six feet deep hole where we are layed to rest. So, no, President Obama is not in trouble, because, the common person is smarter than what the media and political agendas give credit. Media and political outlets throw out these accusations in hopes that it will take hold and bring more attention to the goal of those who put out the information. In other words, bringing attention to themselves. Those of us who actually make an effort to get more than one opinion, or seek information on a topic or subject area should really exercise more often our outrage at the implication that the general public is stupid. The news show hosts, news reporters, elected government officials all have at their hands the access to flow this information, where as the common person does not. Well, now with YouTube and all the bloggs available the common person can have an equal impact against such accusations. The truth is that President Obama is doing a great job at getting us out of the deep hole of crap that the Republican Party digged up, and dumped a great portion of the world population in. Thank God, and pray for the safety of he that holds the Office of the Presidency.

I think his remarks was very cruel and tasteless. A man in such a position where he knew millions of people would be watching and listening could have a least watched what he said.

I agree, because of the 'position' you know he knew what would be asked. Poor form, but that doesn't surprise me.

Why would him making a remark or fun of people in the special olympics pi*ss you off. I would take offense also if I had heard it. There was no reason for him to say such a thing. If you had a child that was in that kind of program you would not be offended by someone making fun of them. I swear it seems that no matter what comes out of this man's mouth some think it is ok. I think he owes them an apologize and if he don't then it tells you what kind of man he is, wonder what he would do if some one said his daughter looked retarded, bet he wouldn't like that. But then you have to look at the over all picture and what a dirt bag he is. Sorry my oinion and as far as I know he hasn't cut that off yet.

I can say I don't like him. Not in the least, but I also know that celebrities on the red carpet say stupid stuff when put on the spot. Again, being he has the position he does, you and I both know that any question to him would have to be given the okay first. So, in light of that, yes I think that was in poor form. Beings how he has the postion he is it was a poor choice of words. Very poor. Enough to piss me off? No, but then again he's never cared much about what others think anyway.
