Any stray dogs or cats around your house?

I have moved in this new place for half year and so far I have seen 2-3 stray cats around only which I'm surprised because where I used to live had lots of stray dogs and cats and I always fed them everyday on time so they wouldn't get starved. I was hoping that I can find some stray cats and make friends with them but I don't see much... How about where you live? Do you feed them? Or you scare them to go away?

That's actually how I ended up with my current pet. My cat randomly showed up in my driveway one day. At the time, he was huddled behind my family's garbage can which was at the edge of the street. We didn't really think much of it and just kind of didn't pay any attention to the cat. The cat seemingly disappeared later. Either later that day or the day after, we spotted the cat again. Only this time it was sitting in a corner of our house shaking and hardly able to move. We decided to feed it and take care of it. No collar or anything. Never saw any signs or anything indicating someone was missing a cat. The cat ended up never leaving and now its ours.

sounds like how I got my current 5 years old cat too! He came to my house and wandered around, I kept him home with the other cats and played, they were scared to each other at the beginning, but after they got along well for a while, they were fine. Thanks for sharing! :-)

Nope. I don't feed stray animals because I don't want them around. I have my own dog and I don't need her getting any disease from stray dogs with no tags. I don't like cats around because I'm not a cat person. Plus my dog likes to eat their poo which is extremely gross.

hi mermaidivy, my dear friend, i have lots os strays around my house and i think at times they are difficult to deal with becasue when they come in their fighting mood or fiery mood they are very dangerous. i feel really very afraid when i see a dog fight . they bark and attack each other so wildly without feeling of pain anywher einspite of their hurts. theyhave such strong adrenalin that i am really afraid to go near them or to even cross by them. we have some stray cats also but they are not as dangerous as the dogs are. there are two dogs in our society but they are cool . people of the society feed them food and they dont even attack children. they are very playful anf loving too. my thirteen month oldie feeds them biscuits daily without fail and now they are very friendly towards her and when she goes down to feed them, they come waigging their tails to her and starts licking her.

People says dogs can smell the fears so don't act scared and stay strong, they will go away. Thanks for responding!

yes, there are stray cats around but some of these are in the neighbors backyard because they feed them but some are also coming inside the kitchen and get food so i have to scare them away and these cats are not friendly either. Once, there was a stray kitten we rescued and made into a pet. but old stray cats don't just come near you even if you try to feed it.

not presently. although the neighbors cats hang out in my yard on a regular basis. it must be more fun for them? we used to have not a stray, but a dumped pet issue with the complex across the street-people would stay for the summer, get a pet,and then dump them before moving back to where they came from.the cats would always seem to find my house, and i actually adopted a few of them (after a vet exam). the city spoke to the owner over there and he now has a requirement for pets to the tenants over there.i think they have to already own them before move in.

Hi friend iam from India and there are many street dogs and cats in my place.I estimate more than 15 dogs and many cats rome here and there. I hate dogs and cats and i fear they might hurt me.I just get rid of them by making some sounds...

Hi there! I have stray cats in our backyard at our hometown and generation after generation I have seen them come and go. I have seen lots of kittens being born. Some I've seen grew up and some well, have been killed by their own kind when there were still a kitten. I am not so fond of cats but I don't hate them. I have dogs as pets and I know if I become good to those stray cats, good karma will come back to my pets that's why I feed the stray cats. I just let them be and let them live in our backyard as long as they want to. I feed them just like the way I feed my pet dogs. One time I even took a stray kitty and have the kitty join the other stray cats in my backyard. Ciao!

At the stable were I board my horse ant work at, this was 3 stray cats. As a week ago there is 4! A new one has moved in! I believe they are tom's. I know they eat some of the cat food I set out for the barn cats. I'm glad all the barn cats are fixed! If not there would be more cats around then needed!

Where i live, there ARE straycats around, though not much , but i'll manage to see a few each day sometimes near the park and sometimes the same ones too...I'll tr my best to get some food from my own cat's stack of pet food and give it to them....I sympathize with them that they have nothing to eat and it hurts me that some of them are sooo skinny..._
