Fuelling up your car

Do you fill your car to full each time your go to the fuel station or do you just put in what you can afford? These days, I just put in what I can afford. I used to always fill the car to full before the fuel prices went sky high but now it's over $1 a litre, I don't.

I usually go and fill my car up on payday so that I can avoid getting gas on the weekend when it seems that prices go up. I think that it is important to watch and see how prices change daily.

Yeah, that's true about fuel prices...have you noticed that the prices are cheaper mid-week than on the weekends?

If it's cheap or the price dropped recently I will fill up if I can afford it. If the price is high I will only put in what I can afford.... usually $20 will get me by.

I usually try to fill back up at a half of tank so that I always have enough if an emergency. That way it is easier to buy than waiting till the tank runs dry. I am not close to any where so it makes it different too than if you live close in.

I've got atleast 6 gas stations within say 2 miles of my house that I can think of & that would make a difference if it was further away.

I always fill the tank up. If I'm short of money, I save back some specifically for gas. When the tank is full, you lose less gas to fumes, so it saves money to keep it as full as you can.

I fill the car on payday and when I am out of gas I have to walk every where else I go. I am a stay at home mom so if I need to stay home I can. The Hubby fills up when he needs it because if he cant get to work then we dont make any money. Some times he needs to take my car to get by but so far we have been okay.

I really depends on how much money I have. If I am doing ok on money then I normally fill it up all the way. If I am on the verge of being broke then I will only put in like $5 or $10. I filled it up all the way yesterday. Only took $20 from where I was at.

We use to fill ours up but now we just put in what we can afford. Its difficult with the higher gas prices. And we have a minivan too so thats kind of hard on our pockets.

we put $10 or $20 in when we can or if the price has gone down, we put more in, it just depends on the price of gas when we need it. we only have one vehicle and hubby uses it as he works in the next city to ours. i take public transit to work every day.

When the gas prices were $4 a gallon, we only put in what we could afford at a time, normally $15-$20 which did not get us far in our van. Now I try to fill it up as much as I can, as it only takes about $40-$45 to do it, compared to a year ago when it was $90ish. Sometimes when I am low on cash, we do put $20 in at a time. Luckily, right now my kids are home for spring break and we are not having to drive to the different school(in different directions) 2 times a day and then the normal work stuff, errands, etc.

I usually put in what I can afford also unless I am in a gas station that is exceptionally cheap. I just put in what I can afford. Sometimes if I am at a station that is much cheaper than other stations I will try to put in a bit more than I can afford just because I think that I might not get a better deal later on.

I would always fill it up to the full as I always drive my car till the petrol tank sign shows up indicating it's time to refuel. Petrol stations are easily available in the place where I stay so would fill it to the full when only the sign shows up. Would use my credit card to pay first and when the statement comes then will pay. As my husband and I have a motorbike each so we hardly use our car unless we need to ferry goods and deliver goods. So a full tank can mostly last us up to 2 months.
