Would you rather use your voice to discuss things on Mylot, instead of typing?

So, I found thiiis kind of neat. I was surfing the web recently and I came across a kind of "voice to text" type of program. What it does is basically allows you to use your voice to do things on your computer, and you can also get it to type for you. How cool would that be to use within Mylot?! It's also fun to think about the many other things you can use it for like blogging, checking your email, and a bunch of other little things, as well as big things like plain ol' surfing the web! Would you think it would be fun to use something like that here at Mylot instead of having to type everything? It would allow us to discuss things sooo much faster because obviouuslly we can talk faster then we type! If you're curious of what the software program is that allows you to use your voice to type and use your computer then you can check out the review "voice to text software" I linked to in my Mylot profile.

Wow having our voice replace our finger in typing is such a cool idea! I think that would allow us to earn more in a faster and more convenient way. However most of us here are not so good in English and some are even not so right in their English grammar. I myself admit that I am better in writing than in speaking. Anyway that is a good idea but not so favorable to most of the members here. But that would favor those who are good in speaking. So to be fair a member who can do that should use that and the rest will just stick in typing.

You do have a point, aha. Maybe speaking in your primary language that then would be transfered to English might be in order?

It's interesting, and I'll check it out. I don't know though. I like typing - I'm probably faster at typing than I am at talking - and I talk all day long (at school and then at work, and then when I get home from work) and so typing on myLot is kind of a way for me to give my voice a break. . But I'll still check it out, I suppose.

Well, I looove typing too. Buut. I think I type a bit tooo mucchh. I'm worried i'm going to get like. Carpal tunnel or something lol. Hence why I started looking for a program like this!. Plus, i'm all about productivity and I think I can get things done much faster by talking to surf the web and type stuff up with my voice. It's a neattt concept. It's like. "Mylot!" "Discussion!" "So, guess how i'm making this discussion" "tab!" "blabalablablbal and so on and so forth I can type all this simply by speaking!" "send!" "skip tags!"

If it worked accurately then I do think it would be pretty cool. But I am doubtful that the technology to be able to correctly identify words from someone's voice is available yet.

Well it's definitely not upto perfection standards. It's more of a "learn as you go" software for the most part. You can keep helping it out to learn your voice and to learn how you talk so that you can get better and better dictation and word accuracy. It's something most people have to work at and I suppose any fast talkers or people that might not pronounce their words right might have a lot of trouble with it!
