Drinking cold water....

Drinking cold water not only quenches my thirst but it also allows me to avoid constipating. It's funny. Whenever i finish a bottle of cold water, after a few hours later, my stomach would hurt and i'd have to visit the great white throne. What about you? What does cold water do to yoU?

Ice cold water makes me fat!!! That is what i notice that I easily gain weight when i take cold water as compared to tap water. That is why I drink tap water instead of cold water instead it is really hot that i can't help myself to have a glassful of ice cold water for it really refreshes my thirst. I don't care for cold water. I like to drink water at room temperature. But water does help me keep regular. I drink a lot of water.

By all means keep drinking water but make sure that it at room temp so it does not go into your stomach cold as that is bad for you . I fill by bottle up at 9.am each morning and drink it a hour or two later. mgraham126

Hello regal aeros; After a "few hours" of having drunk your last bottle of cold water you got to the restroom? I don't know about that. What I know is that cold water is too cold for inside the body. It is better to drink water at room temperature. Also, if you drink a glass of water first thing after you get out of bed, one glass 1/2 before each meal, do not drink during the meals, drink an hour after each meal, then, the bowels movement is smoother and we become "more regular". One of the reason of drinking some time away from eating is that it doesn't interfere with the digestion. Also, it doesn't take a few hours before we need to relieve ourselves. It's in general, for someone in general good health, within a couple of hours after each meal. And it's not the meal we just had... I say that because, beef can take 7 hours to be digested. Fish is the one that will take the least: 5 hours. As for carbs, it depends. Anyway, there you go. Hurray

Your body cannot use water until it is at a warm temperature. If you are working in hot conditions it is tempting to drink cold water to 'cool down,' but in reality your body can use the water more efficiently if it is at room temperature. Americans in particular have gotten used to icy cold drinks, but this is not a good way to hydrate.
