This shot shows the new garden area I dug up; finally finishing it today. I plan on maybe a dozen to 18 tomato plants and about a dozen or so various peppers in the back area. This area is roughly about 10 feet deep and 8 feet across. It gets maybe 8 hours sun daily so it will work for the tomatoes. Did you dig a new area this year? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Sounds like you will have a lot of tomatoes and peppers to go along with all your other things. No, we didn't do any digging since we won't have a garden.

Yeah I have about 50 tomato seedlings growing. I may just let them get bigger then give a bunch away as that's way too many for my garden I feel. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

If you wanted Grandpa Bob if you don't like the idea of canning, or if you still had too much I'm sure your local food bank or friends would take them off your hands!

I didn't have to. The winds of February moved my aluminum shed for me and there was an instant garden! I do have to turn the ground, I think, but it won't be so bad. It gets sun all day!

The shed was toasted! I spent hours taking it apart so I could have it hauled away. It also did a bit of cosmetic damage to my siding which I fixed myself and I will have a small area replaced in the future--I used the insurance check to pay for my root canal!

Yes canning some would be so nice but my son and I are the only ones in my family who eat tomatoes and when we do grow we just have what we will be able to eat ourselves or if more then we give some to friends so they don't go to waste. We have also made hot sauce before with some of them.

I don't really have anywere in my garden that I can make a vegetable patch. However this year I have planted some rhubarb, which will hopefully provide me with lots of yummy puddings next year! I am also planning on doing tomatoes in hanging baskets. I have been told they work very well that way but have never tried it myself. So we shall see!

Looking good there Grandpa Bob. I still have not done anything outside. Today is finally a decent day out. A little chill in the air still, but overall pretty nice. Maybe by this weekend I will get off my butt and do something.

Grandpa, I'm going to hire you to come start our garden. We have nothing done, absolutely nothing done. When my husband fell about a month ago, he did something to his left leg (he fell on his right leg and arm, but hurt his left!) and it is very hard for him to walk around and it's been hard on him working or doing yard work.I haven't even mentioned planting a garden. He did buy some tomato plants before he got hurt and has let them nearly die. He's not even able to get the place ready to plant. But he did get a call from the DRS office about his X-rays yesterday. He didn't have a broken bone, but we know he's pulled something in it, but it will get well eventually. Perhaps we'll get something set out one of these days.

Your so lucky! Your gardens look great and those of us that are renting or can't have a garden are super jealous just so you've been told mister! Good luck with the gardens, they look great, and I think you'll get lots of great stuff :)

Home grown tomatoes are a wonderful thing! I'd like to grow some, as the ones we get in the shops are watery and tasteless. There's nothing like a toasted tomato sandwich - nice and salty, and crispy on the outside. Good luck with your growing - can't wait to see them when they're grown and ready to pick!

Hi GRANDPA BOB, Its looking good, can't wait to see it when they are growing, nope I haven't got a big garden to do things like that, it will have to be in a large pot for me. Tamara
