Granny Vs. Thief...Thief Lost

United States
April 16, 2009 1:37pm CST
A thief got a nasty surprise when he entered the home of 86-year-old Gwyneth Davies. He got beaten...by her cane. * The healthy young man was found by police cowering on a stool menaced by an elderly lady who had recently suffered broken ribs, a fractured hip and double pneumonia. The police were needless to say suffering from an attack of...laughter. * Mrs. Davies explained her ability to put thieves in their place by being raised with rowdy brothers. * http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/04/15/oap-whacks-burglar-with-her-crutch-then-holds-him-prisoner-115875-21281153/

that reminds me of the story of the time the attempted rapiest grabbed my roomie, well, the next thing she knew he was laying on the ground crying like a baby he tried to say it was the police that beat him up, the guards at the jail brought in the artical that showed this big black guy had been beaten up by a "fat, blind white woman."

That is worthy of a 4chan prank. They are responsible for the RickRoll...If you don't know what I'm talking about, I have a weird sense of humor... they are also responsible for LOL-Cats and other strictly Internet humor. But don't visit the 4chan board if you have Windows unless you really know what the heck your doing, possible virus city.

I think this thief is new or may be he trying first time. Otherwise he can do it easily otherwise he can escape from there.

We don't know just how much experience 'granny' had at corralling the male species...it did say she had a number of obnoxious male relatives...

Awesome granny! I think this is a lesson for us to learn as well: never underestimate anyone even someone at the age of 86 and sick! Wow~~~

Oh and the guise of the weapon...even the item that conveys infirmary can be quite...painful.

This story is great! It lets people know not to underestimate someone just because they have some age under their belt. This woman is what we call in my neck of the woods "Bout it" and wasn't about to take this lying down. I am so proud of her, because I don't even know if I would be able to do the same thing in her situation. There is one thing that I don't understand though, what is an "OAP"? There is an acronym that comes to mind, but I don't think the paper would want the negative publicity that would follow lol. ...in case you were wondering, the only thing I could think of is Old A$$ Person lol

The story came from an online version of a UK paper. So I think it's a UK'ism. All I can think to say is try googling for UK terminology "OAP"...
