How did you know that God wants him for you?

I have a friend who's having a hard time seeking the counsel of godly people and she keeps on asking them "is he the one God has prepared for me?" she prays, she's close to God, but she can't seem to find the right answer. How about you? how did you know that your partner is the one God has prepared for you?
