Teachers what are you doing for ASD Awareness Month?

So, what are teachers doing this month or what have you done? Did you do any special lesson plans? Did your school districts/schools do anything special to promote this month? Namaste-Anora

my daughters school are not doing anything to my knowledge for this and i think they should promote it in some way

Adam- That's a shame. Is one of your daughters with ASD? What sorts of awareness activities would you like to see, as a parent? Do you feel we should be teaching both special education students and regular education students about self-advocacy? Do your daughters participate in their IEP plan? Thanks again for taking the time to respond and let us know what is and what is not being done. It helps. I'm all for advocacy, and knowing what parents want to see is so very helpful! Namaste-Anora
