Last Minute Getaway!

My boyfriend and I just booked a last minute trip for this weekend. It's his birthday today and I've been wanting to take him somewhere fun and exciting, but his schedule hasn't allowed for much planning. We're headed to a mountain to go hiking and are staying at a really great inn located in the foothills of the mountain range. I can't wait! Have you ever planned a last minute getaway? Do you prefer to have your trips planned well in advance, or right before you have to leave?
