Vitamin B1

I take vitamin b1, also known as thiamine, because it helps my itching skin. Vitamin B1 supports energy metabolism and nervous system health. Does anybody know how it controls itching? I know that itching and the nervous system go hand in hand some way. I've also checked my medical books and several search engines on this subject but none of them explain how vitamin B1 controls itching. Kathy.

Did you find out the reason for this Kathy? I have heard of people taking Vitamin B12 and B6, for itchy skin but did not know B1 helps too. I am interested in this now. Do let me know if you found an answer to why and how B1 helps. Thanks! :)

No, I never did find out how vitamin B1 works. I didn't know that Vitamin B12 and B6 controlled itching, too. These might work even better. I might consider trying one of them instead of B1 next time. I used to take B6 all the time before I had my hysterectomy because I had a lot of pains with my periods. I had a hysterectomy in 1990 when I was 38. Thank you for responding. Kathy.

My pleasure Kathy. My mum started taking calcium after her hysterectomy. I responded to the "back pains" discussion. Do you have calcium deficiency? May be you can answer on the other topic.
