I have seen police pull over jeepneys and taxis just to fine the driver one cigarette. The police would raid the bars ar Ermita take the girls and wait for the fines to be paid some girls would have to perform for them.
How do you find the police treatment to the family of ted failon?
Should suspects be treated as criminals
They just picked up those family members in a warrant-less arrest. They shouldn't do that suspect or even to criminals. Where's the Human Right There.

There are lots of instances that warrantless arrests are done. I am not sure though if the circumstances involving the relatives and household helps of Trina Failon are one of those instances. On the first place, why are those people considered suspects? Is it already established that a crime is committed?

yes there are three.. if my memory serves me right.. not sure kung tatlo lang tlga..
1. when he is caught in the act..
2. based on a strong personal knowledge of facts or circumstances of the arresting officer, that suspect has committed it..
3. prisoner who has escaped from custody or is held while his case is pending..

Thanks for the information. This only proves that an abuse was done in arresting those people who are supposed to have "obstructed justice". I also can't help but shudder that even with lawyers around, the police could have done those. Are the lawyers present during the arrests of the household helper and the driver just don't know the law or the police force are just too overwhelming? I really hope that the justice the police are talking about will take its toll rightfully soon.

I guess the question that the people are asking now is, "Who's going to police the police?" It was shocking to see how they treated those that they have arrested the other night. The police said that they are only "inviting" these people to give statements. I believe that they are very arrogant and should be reprimanded.

first off this policemen are human too.all i can see that the main reason why other policemen are doing that is because of power abuse.they know that those people who are they doing those things won't even complain of what did they do.so in return they knew that they will get something out of doing it.as for your second question regarding ted failon's current issues.the media shouldn't cover that event because it disrespects the person's privacy.and before they can arrest an individual, they should be a warrant of arrest and the individual has the right to decline until there are no formal complaint against that person..

I don't know what can of policemen we have here in the Philippines. Some of the police engage in illegal activities sometimes its hard to trust to the police. Like we heard in the news that the they often violate the laws. How they can protect us if they are also violates the law and order.

for real? it was a warrant-less arrest?.. hey that's a violation of the Bill of Rights, Section 2.. the right of the people against unreasonable searches and seizures.. and the way they handled the suspects,, it just defies the constitutional rights of suspects that "everyone is innocent until proven guilty".. every side has their own mistakes..

I believe that there are still some good persons in our police force. These bad police are just a few but when they commit mistakes they somehow make the whole organizations really looks bad. I still have hope that one day the whole organization would clean and get rid itself of these bad elements.

Policemen are supposed to be the guardian of law in a country instead they take the law into their own hands and abuse it to their advantage. They shouldn't take the law into their own hands and act like no one is above them. Corrupted policemen should be severely dealt with so that they won't tarnish the good name of lawmakers.

Philippine police are so badly dynamic . I didn't like their scope and understanding about their profession instead to protect and serve us we're the one protecting them either. Corruption is on their hands. I think what government should do is to educate POLICE man proper values and ethics as they are the protector of human race.
