Are you using the right amount of water when doing the laundry? This means are you turning your nob on your washing machine so the right amount of water is coming out, or do you always have a full load to do? If using the right amount of water can save on your water and electric bill. Just another way to save money during the tough times.

I can usually wait until I have a full load before doing laundry but, when I can't, I use the small load setting on the machine in order to save water and energy. I also wash everything in cold water...have been doing this for years. I don't want to give my utility companies any more of my money than I have to.

I'm with spalladino. I always wait until I have full loads and I use cold water. I wait to do my laundry until later in the evening. I use the clothesline outside when weather permits and I have a clothesline inside too which takes care of some of the drying. All these measures cut down on both my water and electric bills. The dryer is particularly heavy on electrical use, so cutting back on how often/long I use the dryer as well as using it during off peak times produces the biggest savings when it comes to laundry. Cheers.

Definately...So long as the pile of clothes i wash doesn't go beyond half the tank, then i'll be sure to set the water to a low level....Now with the recession and all, we'd have to make do with things, and use enough for the day...So as long as there's water in the tank washing my clothes, i shouldn't care that the water level's low..My clothes will still be washed..=]

Yes I usually wait to I have a full load. But like my whites don't ever make a full load so I always adjust the knob to use less water. Plus I wash most of everything in cold water. We have to do everything now adays to save on energy and our bills.
