My father's birthday is in the day after tomorrow and it is his 50th birthday. If I want to congratulate, I have to catch up the train tomorrow. I took a night at train then two hours at bus. And I afraid my mother will talk with me about my unpleasure present though I satisfy with my present. I dont want to go home, should i must go home for mu father's 50th birthday??

It sounds as though it would be a long and difficult journey for you. I wouldn't want my sons to make such a journey just because they thought they should do. I would far sooner they made the trip willingly because I think I would sense that they were not happy about it and it would spoil the pleasure of seeing them a bit. Only you can judge how your own parents will react if you dont go.

Isn't it dangerous to travel at night? It seems you have a long way to go till you get home and greet your father. You have to consider your safety too. About the present, it's not that important I think. What's important is the thought. At least you cared to give your father something. 50th birthdays are said to be special. It's a milestone for your father to reach that age. He will be very happy for your presence, but I'm sure he will understand why you can't go home. You can greet him on the phone too. Ciao!

Yes it is a good thing that you go home for your fathers birthday. I have 8 children and it is always a happy time when they can come for my birthday. they all live so far away, and they can not make it here all the time. I never expect presents from them, just their being here is present enough. They always do do get me something, but i would be just as happy with them just being here, because i know that it took them such a long time to get here..about 12 hours to drive.

It would be great if you can go down personally to wish your father happy birthday and i am sure he will be touch to see you.But if you are really busy or have reasons of not wanting to go home, you can send like a video showing you saying happy birthday to your dad and send it to him.And that will be my opinion for you.
