Hi, just wanted to introduce myself, I am a sahm of bbg triplets, who all happen to have SPD, or Sensory Processing Disorder. It has been a up hill battle but we are getting there. I love my kids but the challenges we face day to day is sometimes more than I can take. I am looking forward to talking with all of you about the things that we struggle with as a family with three special needs children.

Hi, really glad to see you here sharing your story. I have one boy, age 4, with SPD. He is also a sensory seeker like your one boy. He jumps, crashes, spins and touches everything in sight when he's in "sensory" mode. With OT and an inclusion preschool, he has shown dramatic improvements. SPD never goes away but children learning better coping mechanisms to get them through things. I also worry about school because our biggest challenge is in getting him to sit still but we have another year so I am keeping my hopes up. Not sure if you are familiar with the SPD Foundation. They do research and advocacy on SPD - their website has some great resources. www.spdfoundation.net

I am a very avid reader of that site, it is one that I go to as soon as my computer is open in the morning. I also get the SPD magazine. It has some great information in it. School is going to be our challenge as well.
