Do things to make my roomate happy

Your new room mate sounds very sweet. Most people love to hear a thank-you when they do something nice, of course. Beyond that, showing an interest by asking questions about her life, or making her a favorite food, taking her out for dinner. Maybe another thing would be to pitch in and clean the house together, or buy her a small gift like a Cd of her favorite kind of music, or invite her for a walk in the park.
