I recently read the book "The Silence of the Lambs" and I thought it was even better than the movie, it was suspenseful but had more emotion and feeling than the movie. But my question is what was the last book you read and did you like or dislike it? and why did you?

I recently read the Barber of Seville by Beaumarchais. I'm not sure about his name's spelling. It's a French play, from what I gathered. It was cool, I was laughing while reading it. It leaves you feeling lighthearted yet it's not totally without sense either. It tackles some political issues like gender equality and such, while being very subtle about it. Has anybody read it? :)

I just finished Hopes and Fears, one of Turnbull's Hennessy and Yellich mysteries. I am about to start (re-read) Sheri Tepper's Gate to Women's Country. If I answered this tomorrow night I would probably be about to start Veronica Stallwood's Oxford Blue, and so on. I read 2 books every three days. Lash

I actually just finished Stephen Kings first book of the Dark Towers series, The Gunslinger. I had already read Wolves of the Calla (which is the 7th or 8th book in the series) and I really enjoyed that one, so I figured I would start at the beginning of the series. My plan is to read a book from the series, then read another book before readin the next book in the series. That way I don't feel like I'm always 'stuck' reading the same stuff over and over and I can get some variety reading in. Make sense? I already have my next book ready to read, and then after that one I will go and by myself the 2nd book in the Dark Towers series, I'm not sure what it's called so I'll have to look it up lol.

I just finished reading Wally Lamb's The Hour I First Knew. It's a really good book about the Columbine shoots and they're after effects. It's fictional but it uses lots of real facts. It's a big read but well worth it. Poinant also because it was just the 10th anniversary of the shootings a couple days ago.

I recently read the Science Desk Reference book from the New York Public Library. I liked it a lot. It's got lots of information regarding science. Everything about science bundled in just one book. I give it an 11 over 10. LOL. Cheers!

The last book I read would be a biography of Abraham Lincoln. It was an interesting read as the man oversaw the end of slavary in the U.S and established the supremacy of the Union.

Right now I am reading a book called Reading Lolita In Tehran, about an underground girls school in Iran, after the Islamic revolution of the late 70s, earlly 80s. Before that i read the biography of Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Prize-winning Iranian lawyer and activist. I have an Iranian friend here in Guelph who has been lending me all kinds of great books.

I recently re-read Instant Replay by Jerry Kramer. It is probably the best pro football book ever.
