Is ReviewStream a scam?

I submitted a few reviews on ReviewStream a while back and they only approved one. I was an English major at college, so I know how to write, and I spent quite a bit of time on these reviews making sure they were well-written and followed the guidelines. All of my reviews were 400+ words. The only advice they gave me was "be more specific". How vague is that? Is this site a scam? I find it hard to believe that they would only accept one review out of five, and I know that my reviews were of a better quality than a lot of the stuff I see on there. I'm a little insulted!

I wouldn't call them a scam -- they do pay -- but one issue you may run into is the simple fact that some types of reviews generate more revenue than other types so they may not be willing to pay the full rate very often for even well-written reviews of unprofitable items. They'd go out of business if they paid $2 for product reviews that won't generate at least $2 for them ultimately. What sort of products were you reviewing?

Hmm... good point. I was writing reviews of various restaurants in my area as well as a couple of movies. What types of products would you suggest that I review?

I'd recommend that you try reviewing electronics and other "big ticket" items that people sometimes buy online. Of course, it's quite hard to write many reviews of more expensive items because you won't have that many at your disposal -- I've often thought that the owner of an electronics store would be the perfect online reviewer! Still, you could review your cell phone, computer, TV, digital camera, printer, etc.

So far i have earned $26.4 with reviewstream. I can understand your insulted feeling for being rejected by them. I have experienced the same condition with you. I submitted about 5 to 6 reviews but only one accepted. Later i tried to submit reviews one by one, and i got a higher acceptance result. So i come to my conclusion that they might dislike us to submitting some reviews in one day. Well, good luck for you.

Thank you for the good tip. I will try spacing out my reviews. I did submit them all in one day :)

wait a second, when you say they wouldn't accept your other reviews are you referring to the $2 pay rate or they wouldnt pay for your other ones PERIOD? I have $30 on reviewstream so far, only one of them was $2 paid for, and you know what? I don't care. All of my reviews are 40 cents each and they all add up. Just keep adding them up.

You write about practically anything, it doesn't matter as long as the same review you're submitting wasn't published anywhere else (they are VERY STRICT about that). All of mine are 200-400 words. They're pretty fair about the 40 cent rate, I've had zero problems.
