It would depend on the style of you house and what is in your kitchen. You need something that works with your cabinets and countertops. I would add it should work with the paint. But the truth is the the paint should work with the tile. Paint is cheap compared to tile. To keep your tile shining (if shining is the type of tile you buy) then either buy a tile that is sealed knowing that you will still want to seal the grout or if your tile does not comes sealed then seal it with a good quality sealer. If your kitchen is a high traffic area then you may need to do this as often as twice a year. For example if your house is the one every child in the neighborhood comes to then you will need to reseal it more often. As far as cleaning goes, you should check the manufactures suggestions for not just the tile but the grout. Darker grouts sould not have bleach used on them. Some grout is not to be cleaned with some tile cleaners. So for the best results do not just check with the sales person. Go on-line and check with the manufacturing companies of the grout and tile.
