error while DVD writing....

Recently,while writing dvds with nero 9 after completion of about 5% of data writing there comes an error message saying "error while writing" and the dvd burning stops...next time I insert the same dvd it shows that the dvd is not blank....So in this manner i get my dvds wasted..
What to do??

Well, you actually wasted 1 dvd disk, if you are burning a disk then suddenly an error pops up in your face saying that "error while writing", maybe it is been interrupted by other applications...
If you are burning something, be sure no other heavy applications are running that might cause to freeze your computer, and may lead to writing errors...
You should try to re-burn what you are burning, and be sure only the NERO 9 is running, no other program should run just to be safe so that you will not waste another disk...

If that's so, then your drive is defective or it needs cleaning.... That's the closest explanation to that.
Or if not, maybe you should disconnect your DVD Rom Drive, then connect it again (maybe it has a lose contact). then try to burn again, this might require you to waste another disk for this test.... If this still did not work at all, then I recommend you to buy another CD/DVD Rom Writer..
